Bad Day Gone, New Day of Leadership

Yesterday was bad. Period. Enough about that. Moving On.

It should come as no surprise to any of you that actually read this but I'm no wordsmith. I don't say things properly all the time. I mis-speak although I KNOW what I mean. Regardless, I find it exciting when someone else says what I want to say.... Here's one of those times. Perry Noble says:

I Do Not Think I Am Better Than The Team I Serve With.

A leader who sits in a room with a group of people and perceives that he or she is better than the people in the room will NEVER see what they are capable of because of his insecurities.

When I sit around the table with the leadership team God has put around me…

I know that these people are smarter than I am, more capable than I am.... etc. etc.

I relate to that! Read his entire post here.

Why no net metering?

Ok... I'm really building a desire to get involved with Solar Energy. I mentioned it earlier.

I found a local resource and I've contacted them. Jim is supposed to call me Monday. We'll see. He's just finished putting in a solar panel with standby generator for a house that doesn't have utility power. I'm not ready for that yet but if i could start learning, I'd ok with that as a vision!

I have made contact with Peter Manfre, near Fort Mill, SC, who gets his power from York Coop. He has recently signed a deal with York to be the first site in the state to get net metering. He is a ‘beta test site’ for their study before they make and submit final recommendations to the federal government in August. He has offered to show me around his place. I hope to get up there in the next couple of weeks.

But...today in the Morning News, I read about how a local school, Savannah Grove Elementary School, has been chosen to participate in a program that is "designed to encourage interest in the environment and demonstrate the feasibility and limitations of renewable power generation through Pee Dee Electric Cooperative and Santee Cooper’s Green Power Solar Schools."

I can only hope that Santee Cooper will put net metering in place soon. That will free up the local cooperatives, in my case Pee Dee Electric, to incent those of us who are interested in Solar to move forward with it.

Random thoughts...

1. I bought a Nintendo Wii. It's fun. Most exercise I've gotten in a long time while playing video games. If you also have Wii console, let's play!

2. The State paper on June 3rd, ranked the high school I graduated from as having the best athletics program in the Pee Dee. I can't believe it but that was definitely NOT the case when I went there.... Great Job Teams

3. Rust-Aid is my friend. We have high levels of iron in our water out here in the country. Between the Washing machine, the dishwasher, the ice machine, toilets, etc. we go through our share of Rust-Aid. heck it even cleans the fence from the sprinkler system.

4. In Florence, thinking of home schooling? here's a resource.

Every other month, the guys from the Sunday School class get together to enjoy some fellowship. Tonight, only 5 of us arrived at the Florence Redwolves Game. In the bottom of the 4th with the score tied, the clouds began to roll in..... Off to Red Bone Alley for some Shrimp and Grits and Fellowship.

iPhone? gPhone?

Move over Apple! is Google preparing a gPhone? Since most of my readers here probably don't read Terry Storch, I thought I'd share a link he shared.

Read this for some potential news from Google.

I will track my teen... I will track my teen

I'm so glad this wasn't around when I was growing up but you can rest assured that by the time my 5 year old gets her license, I will have AT LEAST this device. I'm sure in 10 years the technology will be different. We may have these by then.

For my non-technical friends... click the links above.
