According to this site, Bill Gates had the following to say about Religion in 1996.
Just in terms of allocation of time resources, religion is not very efficient. There's a lot more I could be doing on a Sunday morning.

This is from a Time Magazine article in January 1997. http://www.time.com/time/gates/gates7.html It doesn't bode well, but at the same time, he doesn't deny God and the article shows Melinda as a devoted Catholic.
