A friend shared a post by this guy (who I don't know). The post suggested in order to get started with an online presence you need certain accounts and services...
I thought I'd give myself a check up and make sure you knew how to connect with me:
- Twitter - www.twitter.com/deanlisenby
- Blogger account. - www.deanlisenby.com
- Facebook profile - I have an account and I'm fairly active... can't seem to find the link.... oh well.. ask to be my friend!
- MySpace Account www.myspace.com/dlisenby
- YouTube account - www.youtube.com/deanlisenby although I have not uploaded any videos.
- Gmail account - email me at deanlisenby [at] gmail dot com (put it together so the spammers won't harass me!
- LinkedIn - http://www.linkedin.com/in/deanlisenby
Just curious... what other accounts/services do you rely on?

What about Google Reader.
Ya gotta be able to track all the blogs of friends.
Might want to try twhirl.
Makes twitter even better.
And ya gotta share twitter updates on the sidebar of your blog :-)
Don't forget a good blog roll to show your link love for all the friends!
Looks like you've got quite a presence. That's excellent. I'm excited that you're looking into this at this point.

Who knew someone read my shared links in Google Reader? :-) OK, so a couple people have mentioned it. Those are a lot of profiles. I have all of those (OK, I refuse to sign up for MySpace on principle, but it's a conscious choice!) accounts and probably another 10 others various places (Flickr, FriendFeed, and enough others I can't really remember them all!). Most are fun to try but there are too many to use on a regular basis. I like to use my blog as my primary and default method of communication, with IM and Email being my second choices for direct (not public) communication. The rest are not ubiquitous enough, although each has their cool features that I use once in a while. Facebook and LinkedIn make good "address books" so I don't forget who I know! :-)
Also, Twitter is supplementing my blog due to the ease of posting and the fact that it forces me to be succinct; if you know me that's very good exercise...
